About Me
Hello! My name is Emily McKinney, and I am majoring in art education at Anderson University. My biggest passion in life is creating art and having the opportunity to display such passion in my teaching. Art is such a great way to not only create visually pleasing pieces, but it also enables the creator to communicate and process their identity and emotions. I love art and how it has impacted my own life and I encourage each student to be willing to explore and experiment through art and how it can impact their life as well. I also further express that art is important and can be found in everything around us, it just takes a trained eye to notice it. The student will be able to see art opportunities and art inclusion through each lesson and project.
Outside of art education, I am a teaching artist, a teacher who creates artwork and teaches based off of experience. In my own pieces I combine realism with creative environments or creatures to express a personal experience I endured. All my artwork is very personal to my own experience and my goal for the students is to be comfortable to be vulnerable in art and take such risks.
